    The project

    Sustainable and Traceable Natural Rubber.

    STNR is part of the GIZ-led Sustainable Agriculture for Forest Ecosystems (SAFE) programme (2025-2026). SNV, with partners Agridence and PT Kirana Megatara, delivers the work in Sintang, Sanggau, and Landak. Agridence contributes the technology and field expertise: data quality, traceability, and regulatory readiness from the first mile to downstream buyers.

    Funded by the EU, BMZ, and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs; implemented in West Kalimantan with SNV, GIZ, Kirana Megatara, and Agridence. The goal: keep independent smallholders in global markets as regulations like the EUDR take hold.

    951 hectares mapped, 1,059 farmers surveyed, and 1,073 plantations registered across Sanggau, Sintang, and Landak regencies.

    Partnership and scale

    Regulatory pressure, turned into practical systems.

    STNR turns regulatory pressure into practical systems that work for farmers, processors, and buyers; SNV and Agridence are extending the approach to more districts, depots, and commodities.

    The Telapak Tani Rubber Depot in Sanggau, for example, connects independent farmers directly with factories, improving prices and transparency while feeding verified data into traceability and risk tools.
